Motif Music Awards
Wow! A huge round of thanks to everyone that voted for us in the Motif Magazine Music Awards, we won the award for Americana Act of the Year! Weird right? We're confused too. Hey editors, how is it we got nominated in that category? You all have got some explaining to do... A special congratulations to all the other bands nominated for the awards, particularly the other folks up for the Americana award; Mark Cutler & The Tiny String Band, The Benedictions, Magnolia, and The Throttles as Mike said "You guys were robbed!"
Was it the cowboy hats at the hoedown?
Motif Magazine has nominated us for Americana Act of the Year... which sorta puzzles us. Is this like the year when Jethro Tull beat out Metallica for the Grammy for best Heavy Metal Album?Who are we to say? We're right up there with apple pie ain't we? Well you tell us, or them as it were. You can vote at http://surveygoldplus.com/s/5866E8052E6A4A97/28.htm
GMDVP video
httpv://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=BF92A3D5005AE136Hey it's 20°, who want's to go swimming? OK, so who want's to go swimming while playing trumpet? That's right Mike, we're asking you.ERB played the GMDVP 7th annual Winter Plunge. It was a great event and they raised a bunch of dough to help keep people safe. Way to go folks! Look at how much fun it was. I don't think Mike missed a beat during that submersion. Off camera he was joined by Ben, Josh, & Tony, and was that you too Matt? I know a bunch more folks in the band are already planning on bringing a change of cloths so they can join in too next year!
Hi Kids!
ERB was playing a gig next door to the Providence Children's Museum and someone asked us to come over and pay them a visit. Mobility is one of the number one advantages of a marching band, OK number two. Number one is the sheer fun of it all! They posted a video of us playing on their facebook page. Go check it out, make friends with the museum, and better yet pay a visit, it's a blast! We kept getting distracted by all the neat things to explore throughout the place.
Hey Phoenix, what about best marching band?
The Providence Phoenix is polling for the Best of Issue, the categories are kinda weird this year. So how do you vote for your favorite marching band? Well there's only one place to vote for a band of any kind, cover band. Hey we do a few covers, put us in there. Or you know maybe you think we're really the best cupcake, whatever floats that boat of yours. Vote early & often!
Yelp digs ERB!
We partied with the local Yelpers at the Salon last week. When you play a party with a bunch of folks who review stuff locally you've got to wonder what will be written afterwards... the reviews are trickling in and ERB was a hit!
A grown up marching band geek adults jamming out on their instruments to Smooth Criminal? AMAZING. I loved sitting on the picnic table under the standing trombonist rocking out! They were the perfect entertainment and so energetic -- made me pine for my old high school band days ;-)
Thanks for the kind words Kristine. If that pining continues, drop us a line!
the Extraordinary Rendition Band was a super fun, unadulterated kick in the ass of energy
That's right Cherie, we're nothing if not unadulterated!
ERB was so fun and unexpected, and great to see them again after HONK on Columbus day!
Nice to see you too Brittany.
ERB was awesome, and can't wait to book them for a future event or two.
Hey David see that link at the top of the page that says Booking? Get clicking...
The people were friendly, the music was good, ERB was an unexpected blast, and the Salon is a cool place!
Unexpected again? Andrew do we resemble a certain Inquisition?
Serenade your sweetheart
Music! the language of love and desire....The Extraordinary Rendition Band has found itself with an excess amount of love on hand that it needs to redistribute as soon as possible! The band has also found itself with a rather large airfare bill for the HonkTx! show coming up in March. What to do?Oh I know! You could hire us to serenade your sweetheart. I've heard this makes one hellava Valentines day gift. Chocolates are sweet, roses are lovely, but launching a marching band at the object of your desire, that's something you don't recover from once the box is empty.Drop us a line if you're interested.[si-contact-form form='3']
