ERB's COVID-19 Statement

As of 05/05/2021:

ERB is committed to keeping our community and ourselves safe. Until COVID is no longer a threat to our health, we will follow the advice of public health authorities.

ERB Booking Expectations

Here are our current guidelines for performance. They are subject to change.

  • We look forward to playing outside! For now, no indoor gigs will be considered.

  • Please tell us the approximate dimensions of the performance space.

  • We request 20 feet of space between performers and spectators.

  • We request roughly 10 ft between band members.

  • ERB reserves the right to cancel or stop a gig for safety reasons. However, we will make every effort to resolve issues before doing so.

  • ERB members will self-screen for symptoms.

  • Before performing, we will briefly describe our safety policies.

  • We ask you to include this information in your own publicity.

As of 08/01/2020:

In accordance with RI.gov guidelines, the band has decided to resume rehearsals, outdoors and socially-distanced. If you see us practicing, please respect each musician’s space and stay 10-15ft apart and wear a mask. Each band member will be wearing a mask when not playing their instrument and have taken precautions of covering the bells of their instruments when they can.

Although we miss bringing the public musical joy, we are not actively performing. We are taking gig requests, but consider each on an individual basis.

ERB is an activist band, so you may see us at a rally or protest. If you are the host of an organized rally or protest, contact us and the info will be passed along for the individuals of the band to decide their attendance.

We hope everyone is staying safe and healthy!

As of 06/01/2020:

In the interest of caring for each other and our beloved community, the Extraordinary Rendition Band has discussed how best to continue our mission of building community. These are the principles and measures we have agreed on:

  1. We will model safe behavior: at this time ERB is not appearing in public; there are no in-person performances or rehearsals planned.

  2. We will respect our members’ autonomy and trust each other’s judgment: as individuals, we are each free to gather as we wish, with whom, when, and where we choose.

  3.  We will adapt to the times and listen to science:  ERB plans to continue to review this status in relation to developments in both the pandemic and in guidance from our local Department of Health, the CDC, and academic and musical performance research.

Note to the public about interacting with musicians: if you see musicians (from ERB or otherwise) rehearsing/performing/playing in public, please respect their space and leave a distance of 10-15 ft, wear your PPE, and do not encourage gathering in a large audience.

We appreciate your help in keeping everyone safe and healthy!
